Allada Lab's Matthieu Flourakis Wins The Sleep Research Society Foundation's Career Development Award

It is with great honor to announce that Allada Lab Research Associate, Matthieu Flourakis has been chosen as one of three winners of the Sleep Research Society Foundation’s Career Development Award for his proposal entitled, “Role of the Cationic Leak Channel NALCN in Mammalian Circadian Physiology.”

Mattheiu is one of only up to two or more chosen recipients of the $50,000 award which recognizes the challenges of transitioning from post-doctoral training to independent research funding.  The goal of the mentored award is to invest in promising early career researchers and assist with their transition into independence as junior investigators.  The Sleep Research Society Foundation is associated with the Sleep Research Society.

Matthieu joined Professor Allada's lab in March of 2009 with his last official day being March 31st 2017.  Matthieu then plans to move to Belgium, from where he will continue his research.
